Early History of North Barrington
Archaeological evidence discovered near the Fox River provides evidence of human inhabitation in Cuba Township as long as 9,000 years ago. The earliest written history of the region, provided by French traders and missionaries, notes the presence of Native American tribes including the Illiniwek, Mascouten, and Wea.
