IDOT Update - IL Route 59

IDOT has determined that flood conditions across IL Route 59 in North Barrington have decreased enough to reopen the highway at 1:00 PM today, Friday, April 24, 2026. IDOT issue an advanced warning to all drivers that water is still present on the southbound lane and to use caution when traveling through this area. IDOT will closely monitor conditions and take appropriate steps should conditions change to maintain driver safety in this area of IL Route 59. The Village of North Barrington does not determine when Route 59 is closed or open, this decision is made between IDOT and Lake County Sheriff.
